Annabel W @RT55887807 1h Definitely a vanity project above all else. Although interesting, it came of as very self-aggrandizing and a tad narcissistic. The details of his plane crash were fascinating yet tragic, and I appreciate how it went in depth about the severity of his injuries. It envokes a lot of sympathy, especially alongside the discussion about his battle with addiction… However, it comes off painfully shallow and an attempt to distract from his past mistakes and controversy by only focusing on the "Look at me! I’m so talented and I was a prodigy! But I struggled with addiction and almost died and my mom died. Poor me 💔. My life was so hard 🥲" There should have been more about the people who died in the crash beyond his best friend. He blamed his divorce on addiction rather than the blatant infidelity. He doesn’t address his obsession with Kim, the disgusting misogyny in his memoir, the public scrutiny over his parenting, etc. It takes away credibility and genuineness a great deal. It was amazing to see that even with Travis' huge traumas and difficult life in many ways he found a way to greater peace and wholeness, and aligned his life with what was most important to him–his family, love, and his own wellbeing and healing, while still staying connected to his creativity and love of drumming and music.
