In ancient times, the gods of Asgard fought and won a war against an evil race known as the Dark Elves. The survivors were neutralized, and their ultimate weapon -- the Aether -- was buried in a secret location. Hundreds of years later, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finds the Aether and becomes its host, forcing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to bring her to Asgard before Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) captures her and uses the weapon to destroy the Nine Realms -- including Earth.

Critics Consensus

It may not be the finest film to come from the Marvel Universe, but Thor: The Dark World still offers plenty of the humor and high-stakes action that fans have come to expect.

Loki is the only character who makes himself new and interesting. When he is around, Thor: The Dark World becomes a different film altogether. You wish there was more of him. The rest of it is metal clanking.

This feels like a really, really, expensive episode of Doctor Who. In a good way.

Save for Hiddleston's too-brief supporting turn, this is mighty forgettable stuff, a by-the-numbers sequel to what was already the slightest and least entertaining of the 'Avengers' components.

Thor: The Dark World is a great continuation in the Marvel Universe and it’s a better direction than Iron Man 3.

The high-fantasy worldbuilding and story align with what the Norse mythological superhero's adventures should be – generic villain notwithstanding.

Dives deeper into the lore and mythology of the character more than other MCU entries, but there might be a reason other entries are more surface-level adventures.

O filme tem um ritmo muito lento, dificilmente a pessoa vai conseguir assitir ele todo de uma vez por ser cansativo, o vilão é muito meh, então é isso

The film isn't bad in itself, but the story is slight and feels a bit pointless. The only interesting moments are the ones featuring Loki and the post-credits scene which amounts to just a few minutes, so it’s really more of a "watch it because you have to" kind of movie.
