Edward Lionheart (Vincent Price) is incensed that his last season of performances in Shakespearean plays did not win him a prestigious acting award from critics. After an unsuccessful attempt at suicide, Lionheart is rescued by a group of drug-addicted bums. He then sets out to murder all of his critics, each with a different style of death taken from a Shakespeare play. When Lionheart faces head critic Peregrine Devlin (Ian Hendry), he offers Devlin a second chance to bestow the award.

We enjoy seeing the pompous critics get their predictable comeuppance in these uninhibited seventies does Shakespeare deaths thanks to the sinful humor and wild thespian mayhem.

Edward Lionheart é um ator cuja carreira foi destruída pelas críticas que recebia de um círculo de críticos de arte. Ele então decide matar um a um, usando como inspiração as mortes das peças de William Shakespeare. A grande brincadeira do filme é adivinhar qual a próxima peça que será utilizada e como será a morte do crítico. Vincent Price está se divertindo. Se por um lado, ele pode declamar as passagens das obras shakesperianas, por outro lado ele usa e abusa do seu overacting que combina perfeitamente com a proposta do filme. Talvez seja mais suspense que terror mesmo, é uma grande diversão que se mantém até os dias de hoje.
