What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Wolf of Snow Hollow treads somewhat unsteadily between horror and comedy, but writer-director-star Jim Cummings' unique sensibilities make for an oddly haunting hybrid.

It's the personal demons rather than old-fashioned monsters that get you - one of [the] central tenets of Cummings' genre exercise/portrait of a screw-up mash-up. Go to Full Review Kevin Crust Los Angeles Times Oct 9, 2020
"The Wolf of Snow Hollow" is a pleasingly quirky outing that has fun with the mythologies of both monsters and men. Go to Full Review Josh Kupecki Austin Chronicle Oct 9, 2020
Cummings is so whip-smart in sustaining his manic energy with a layer of genuine pathos, that the effect transcends one-note cliche. Go to Full Review David Day Horror Movie Talk Sep 18, 2025

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a very relatable and well-made movie that just happens to feature some very tense moments. It’s more fun than I bargained for, and the twist is quite good once you put together what it all means for all the characters involved. Go to Full Review Kate Boyle InSession Film Mar 8, 2023

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is another fantastic film from Jim Cummings. Its quirky sense of humor, surprisingly deep family dynamics, mixed with the murder mystery story make for an entertaining and unpredictable horror-comedy. Go to Full Review Eve Tushnet Patheos Jan 31, 2023
Snow Hollow is willing to name things like “toxic masculinity” and “anger issues” explicitly, but deft and subtle enough to show these abstractions emerging from and intersecting with the werewolf plot naturally. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Pooks B @RT75953810 Jul 2, 2026 Watched this movie not knowing a thing about it and loved it! Honestly surprised at the negative reviews. Really enjoyed the multiple story lines intersecting through out, The Who done it aspect and how it mixed comedy, gore and horror. And there’s a lot of ways to define horror. The acting was brilliant- a lot was said with just a look from Riki Lindhome, while Jim Cummings character felt so raw and real with every outburst. Highly recommend See more Ed H @RT02872567 May 20, 2026 This is an illogical, unfollowable, self-indulgent mess. See more Garry A @heavyg May 16, 2026 The quirkiness of the towns people was somewhat interesting. After 45 minutes the high strung main character got annoying. The wolf man had a cool visual. It didn't hurt that there were a handful of cute guys. See more Cold B. @RT27756353 May 14, 2026 Absolutely atrocious acting. If you want to watch somebody screaming for an hour, turn it on. See more James G @JimEd77 May 12, 2026 The acting, especially by the writer/director/star is horrible! No actor should direct themselves. Overacting to the extreme. Should have hired another director. Lots of unnecessary yelling and screaming. Would definitely NOT recommend this movie. See more renee G @reneecg1972 May 10, 2026 This was really not good. Only watched for Robert Forester See more Read all reviews
