On October 21, 2021, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is killed on a movie set by a prop gun held by the actor Alec Baldwin. In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, virtually no one doubts that it was an accident and a deeply traumatizing experience for everyone involved. After the shock subsides, questions of responsibility, guilt, blame, punishment and justice begin circulating in the media, fueled largely by Baldwin's fame, as well as his reputation. Talented and adored, yet also flawed, politically outspoken, and prone to explosions of anger, the NYC-based Hollywood star becomes a lightning rod for online haters and a target for pushy paparazzi. With prosecutors weighing criminal charges, the events that unfold are driven less by the facts surrounding the case and more by who Alec Baldwin is -- both as a man and as a public figure.

It’s provocative stuff, but whether Baldwin’s nadir is the story anybody wants or needs to hear is another story. Because it’s perfectly fair to believe that the name that should end any conversation about this is always the same: Halyna Hutchins. Go to Full Review

A heartfelt, but unremarkable and by-the-numbers documentary. Go to Full Review

Moody C @MoodyC 6 days ago A very detailed account of incident with facts not shown in news. Two hrs flew by as this is very well done & kept my interest throughout with no dead moments. In beginning, they mentioned Baldwin is not paid for being in doc nor did he sponsored it but it’s very biased & very much in favor of him which I feared before watching it. Seems like a public plead case for him but logically speaking, he is THE boss & so shud bear some responsibility along with first director & definitely armorer who was convicted. From what I seen in doc, prosecutors were incompetent & so got case dismissed for not presenting all evidence but bullets supplier whether he shares guilt or not does not exonerate those in charge who shud had kept more professional environment. It’s important to note much of original crew quit BEFORE tragic incident for unprofessionalism but this not mentioned in doc. Also some saw target practices with real bullets during breaks - why was this allowed? All goes back to big boss! See more Read all reviews
