I See Movies T @Iseemoves4u Jul 23 Dr. Ruiz is rejoicing on just how community driven this film is, I strongly disagree. Our main character is a film school's caricature of a street vendor, wearing raggedy clothes, unkempt hair and a make-up design so awful she might as well have had Sharpy on her teeth. For your education, street vendors wake up early hours and work long, hot days while also taking pride in their appearance. How they were displayed is disgraceful. A white savior movie trying to disguise itself as Latino empowerment. Many times in the story there are "not all white people are bad" sentiment which leaves a bad taste when mixed with the out of place ICE storyline (out of place because ICE attacks are a MAJOR issue but here it's used as a story device to get our character in a position to get more help from...her white saviors!) Also the audio upload quality is SO bad & with no subtitles that half the film is incomprehensible - thank goodness. This is a really bad movie, please save your money and time. It is rare to find a family movie today that is this heartfelt, inspiring, and genuinely enjoyable. this film delivers and unforgettable experience and reminds us that even in difficult times, dreams and love can still prevail.
