In this sequel set eleven years after "The Terminator," young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the key to civilization's victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000 (Robert Patrick), a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother (Linda Hamilton) go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot.

Nothing detracts or distracts from [the film's] cost. Not the plot - too lame, too limp, too tense but with no tension. Not its look - it has the sleek, blue-ice sheen of a music video. Not its script - which reads pompous, the way only bad sci-fi can.

"Terminator 2"...is packed with thrills and astonishing visual effects - there are a couple of long, winding chases... that are as exciting as any ever filmed, and this is one of the few movies worth seeing for its special effects alone.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a perfect example of how to make a sequel that not only matches the original but surpasses it in almost every way. It expands the story in a meaningful direction by turning the Terminator into a protector instead of a pure villain, which adds depth and emotional weight. The action scenes are iconic, intense, and still hold up incredibly well, especially the practical effects and groundbreaking CGI for its time. Arnold Schwarzenegger delivers one of his most memorable performances, and the relationship between John Connor and the Terminator gives the film real heart. Linda Hamilton’s transformation into Sarah Connor also adds seriousness and grit that elevates the entire movie. Overall, it is smart, emotional, and action-packed from start to finish. A near-perfect sequel and easily a 10/10.
