When Jack (James Marsden) and Diane (Marley Shelton) find themselves in an unexpected adult situation, the A-Squad comes to their rescue. In order to help their friend Diane, the A-Squad goes where no cheerleader has gone before: taking on a little after-school project known as bank robbery. But the A-Squad does things their way -- with sugar and spice -- forever changing their friendship, their future and the nation's notion of teen spirit.

Though this cheerleader comedy has an intriguing premise, it's too empty-headed and saddled with too many lame jokes to live up to it. Also, some critics say the movie is irresponsible in its depiction of teens and guns.

Of course, an unfunny comedy is hardly news. However, even by Tinseltown's impoverished standards, one so utterly bereft is something of a rarity, and thus perversely interesting.

Really bad. I could see where producers thought they might be able to get a campy teen romp here, but the writing and direction are so poor. The lead was also miscast, Suvari would have been better choice. Eye candy that will leave your brain in a diabetic stupor.

Forgettable "comedy," with a decent soundtrack. The jokes fall flat. Very flat. Think of it as "Clueless" with much less charm. Good movie to fall asleep on.

It falls victim to some outdated tropes and ends anticlimactically, but Sugar & Spice sports girl power in a funny and endearing manner that'll amuse its targeted demographic.
