Critics Consensus

Though it hints at the absurdity to come in later installments, The Spy Who Loved Me's sleek style, menacing villains, and sly wit make it the best of the Roger Moore era.

David N Jun 2, 2026 One of the cringiest of the Bond films, but it does have good design, an amphibious car, and great miniature effects. "Jaws" was the best Bond villain ever. See more bruce F @bruce999 Aug 14, 2026 one of the best bond movies. really well done. See more IAM M @IAM1655 Jun 7, 2026 The Spy Who Loved Me is my favorite Bond movie in the whole franchise. It is also one of Roger Moore's best. Barbara Bach looks stunning as Anya Amasova, Jaws is one of the scariest henchmen I have ever seen. Stromberg is a pretty weak villain compared to the others. He doesn't really have a real plot, it's instead the ''I'm gonna destroy the world by creating one'' plot that is often used in movies. The Lotus Esprit is also one of the best cars too. See more Ben W @Username618 Mar 28, 2026 Honestly, cannot remember. Sorry, I am trying, at a first instance, just to remember everything I've seen, wall to wall-e. See more Read all reviews
