Its science fiction elements are thinly conceived, while the use of rubbery practical effects and lame jokes feel much closer to the work of the Troma brand where Gunn got his training wheels.

I finally got around to watching Slither after seeing it come up on almost every “horror must-watch” list. It definitely wasn’t what I expected. It’s chaotic, silly, and over-the-top but also funny and entertaining. I wouldn’t watch it again but I’m glad I gave it a shot.

If you liked Night of the Creeps, then you will love this one. The practical effects are great. It has Elizabeth Banks , as well as a few other known actors starring in it. Alien parasite is turning people into monstrous entities. Definitely a must see for horror fans.

Slither is a chaotic horror film that fails to deliver anything genuinely terrifying or engaging. The plot centers on alien parasites invading a small town, but it never develops these creatures into a compelling threat, leaving the story feeling messy and disjointed. Scenes jump from one event to another without proper pacing, and the screenplay struggles to balance horror and comedy, resulting in awkward, unintentionally funny moments rather than suspense. The direction does little to unify the film, with haphazard shots and inconsistent tone that undermine any potential tension. Characters are underdeveloped, and performances range from stiff to overacted, making it difficult to care about anyone’s fate. Even moments that should be shocking or suspenseful fall flat due to poor execution. While some of the practical effects and grotesque creature designs are visually interesting, they cannot salvage the movie. Overall, Slither is poorly written, poorly directed, and unwatchable
