When Tommy receives a phone call inviting his band to open for Green Day on New Years Eve, he doesn't realize it's an elaborate prank by his older brother, Wayne. Desperate to believe his life is about to change, Tommy steals Wayne's car and begins driving his band from Kansas City to Los Angeles, hell bent on getting there in three days. What follows is a rowdy and uproarious road trip across America, inspired by Green Day's early days of touring in a van, years before the release of their breakout record Dookie.

it was a fun and funny series of events to watch it happen unfold. The characters are likeable and relatable, from when things get serious to when things get fun and dumb. The movie did suffer from a bit of a fast pacing, but that's the minor complaint.

my all time favorite band is….. Greenday. I know almost everything there is to know….their story, their background, and own some of the most off the wall stuff of theirs…. When I heard they were making a movie, I didn’t know what to expect. Just like with them, you never know what’s coming. But I can tell you, they knocked it out of the park 10 fold. Never have I gone to a movie where I knew all the hidden references, Easter eggs, you name it, and called them out and explained them in full detail. If you like punk rock or have followed the band a little bit through the nimrod era till now…. HIGHLY recommend seeing the film. Hope to see the boys on tour soon. Well done men!!

Synopsis
