Astolfo, a retired professor evicted from his apartment, decides to move into an old noble but decrepit palace, the last remnant of his family patrimony in a remote village of Abruzzo, where he hasn't been for decades. Soon enough, as a newcomer, he befriends a vagabond, a retired chef and a young handyman. A group of four live harmoniously at his place when he comes across Stefania, a charming and generous woman of his age. Astolfo falls in love and struggles with feelings he thought belonged to the past. Encouraged by his loyal group, Astolfo makes a brave step and learns delightedly that it's never too late to fall in love.

Astolfo is such an appealing character that there isn’t a huge amount of suspense as to how all this will end, but is enjoyable to watch it play out. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Bonnie D @RT17073574 Jul 3, 2025 Movie is sweet and simple! See more Holding C @RT15528551 Jan 11, 2025 "Hey, guys - do you want to continue with recording of this movie or we shall stop here?" - "I don't, I have some better things to work around my house." - "Me too, me and my spouse would like to go on vacation." - "I think we should just finish it here." - "WELL, ok, then, we'll record some boring nonsense scene where Astolfo and Stefania will drive somewhere and this will be the end. Thank you for your cooperation, payment will be delivered in three months". Main actor can not be director in the same movie. Proof is here. All of everything and not a single thing in depth. See more PJ R @RT37162279 Jan 4, 2025 Too many opportunities for complication and depth are skirted. See more Laura D @RT47838800 Nov 21, 2024 I hung in there hoping all the grubby folks in his hometown would have a reckoning and he'd be reconciled with his property and dignity but there was never reckoning with the jerks who took him for granted. It's not satisfying not to have justice and closure. Sweet, slow, likable, cute but I want that pastor to have the cement wall torn down and his home recaptured from the devious priests. I want the main character to become mayor and reclaim all his property. If not, why the hell was this film made? Just to say that people are fleeced? Not ok. Ugh. We long for reconciliation and people being reinstated. This fell flat and sad. It didn't say he was good just that his love wanted to maybe take a trip. For the US audience, we'd love to know that he got his due in life, respect, retribution, and love. Where did he and his love end up living? In her fancy place or his place renovated? Did his other guys live in his expansive villa from then on? Did the pastor pay for retribution? It could have been a US sensation but maybe it's just an Italian hanger-on? Bless you all if that satisfies you all. We need closure. ;o) See more Read all reviews
