Never After Dark sometimes drags with repetitive jump scares. However, this horror flick (about a psychic investigating a haunted house) redeems itself when secrets are revealed, and the mayhem results in an unconventional ending.

In the scare category, the story is odd yet familiar. In the style category, it's a visual pastiche of cinema callbacks, wild camera tricks and excellent performances. We have met the monster, and they are us. Ghostbusters!

I liked most everything about this film. I honestly have no complaints. It well written, acted, and shot. The location felt timeless. The story felt like a new interpretation on old ideas.

Unique, creative, fantastic twist on the "'medium in a haunted house" concept. Completely unpredictable. Compelling. Unsettling. I saw this movie on a whim after seeing a trailer on Instagram and bought tickets for the very next day. I had to drive an hour and a half out of my state to see it and got home at almost 1am. I'm so glad I saw this in theaters. It deserves the full theater experience. Completely worth it. I will be watching this every spooky season. I hope there's a DVD release. Phenomenal. Immaculate.
