Critics Consensus

My Spy plugs Dave Bautista into the "charismatic action star meets cute kid" formula, with generally painless albeit decidedly mediocre results.

Both a little bit better than I expected and not quite good... Self-awareness doesn't make up for the fact that it's very predictable.

The movie's humor is broad and its twists are obvious, so much so that even a couple of enjoyable performances can't really elevate My Spy into anything unique.

The holes in this forgettable, borderline creepy film are as big as the canyon in Naperville.

The reason I'm not giving this one a positive grade is due to the lack of closure given to a significant issue regarding Chloe Coleman's character arc, which sends the wrong message to everyone (kids and parents) going through the same problem.

Had to give this movie top marks to get the score up because some of you are bonkers! lmao.... This is a fun, family friendly movie to make you laugh and pull on heart strings a little, and it did just that! It understood the assignment. Not everything has to give you Nolanesque vibes.

Was really surprised by the lower score this film had on here. A family film and very enjoyable watch for adults too. Superb acting by the lead child actor and male lead David Bautista. You know it’s going to have a feel good ending but there’s drama getting there and some laughs too.
