VICTORIA C @RT38175853 08/08/2024 The main guy is insanely obnoxious. He speaks kind of like a dick to the people speaking to him. Which okay, his experience is extreme. But some of the things made no sense. I think him asking the pyschiatrist about her trauma was a weird aspect to add to his film and could have been done prior to filming. I think him playing his guitar throughout was odd. It feels like someone is holding a gun to his head to be in the film about him. I'm the least sensitive person but Danny is annoyingly obnoxious in every part concerning him having to talk. See more Sadie M @Sade13 10/17/2023 The trauma that Daniel Lutz suffered in his youth has had a very obvious effect on him. If he were an actor I would call his performance just about Oscar-worthy............but he isn't - he's a man with permanently damaged hands and probably PTSD. By now, most adults know that the Warrens were not always truthful people and that George Lutz and Jay Anson (the author of The Amityville Horror) made up parts of the story for the book, but Daniel Lutz's emotional scars are palpable, the ghost photograph taken during the Warrens' investigation is real (I personally compared it to the photo of the investigator people claim it's really of and their faces and clothing are different), and truth is scarier than fiction. Seems very relevant to conspiracy theorists, religious and spiritual people, and paranormalists who truly believe in their own otherworldly experiences. See more 07/21/2022 This movie would've played out better as a 30 minute special for Reelz TV, but instead it seems like the filmmakers padded it out into a 90 min runtime just so they could say they had a 'feature length' film. The main character comes across as your typical burned out loser that you avoid at the local bar unless you want to be subjected to listening to the same drunk, nonsensical trash every time. Lorrain Warren is equally, if not more, mentally unhinged, even trying to convince viewers she has a piece of wood from Jesus's cross. Yeah, we believe the lady with roosters in her basement who continues to make money off other people stupid enough to believe her "career" as a "paranormal investigator". It's frustrating to watch the filmmakers try to convince the audience there's more here than meets the eye, when in fact, everyone involved are just more people continuing to make money off George Lutz' piece of fiction about a 'haunted house'. I guess it's better than the newer Amityville movies that the big movie studios keep churning out, but no one seems to care about those either.
