Despite its stated obsession with all things "peculiar," there's little about this movie that is actually surprising. It comes across like a movie going through the motions of setting up a franchise, not a movie eager to bring you on a wild adventure.

Could definelty be a good movie for when you have nothing else to do, but its nowhere near as good as the books that the movie is actually based on. Give the books a try and then watch the movie and you'll see the stylistic choices in the book are way more unique!

the movie its self is wonder full the plot take quite the turn at the end and i really enjoyed watching it but i give it a 4 star rating because i personally believe the director could have done better on the movie. overall its wonderful and id recommend it
