Thought-provoking and visceral, Steven Spielberg successfully combines high concept ideas and high octane action in this fast and febrile sci-fi thriller.

Minority Report does offer a few issues to ponder, and given the mindlessness of most summer action specials, it’s something of an intellectual feast, even if it’s all hors d’oeuvres. Go to Full Review

Certainly one of Tom Cruise’s best (films), and I think one of Steven Spielberg’s best too…. So much fun to watch, a really intriguing thriller. Go to Full Review

It’s colder and more calculating than much of Spielberg’s oeuvre, and is all the better for it. Go to Full Review

It remains a rather captivating sci-fi outing that offers up a fair amount of excitement, some great visual effects, and a tremendous cast. Go to Full Review

The runt in the litter of Steven Spielberg’s great movies, Minority Report is an unqualified success, a motion picture that like most films worth their weight deepens and expands upon repeat viewings. Go to Full Review

This is a portrait of a society that has passively bartered away civil rights and left much of the population in squalor, living in slums and surviving in the cracks of a surveillance society that has no use for citizens it can’t monetize. Go to Full Review

Kevin P 11h Great sci-fi premise with the timeless ethical dilemma where you can predict crimes and arrest the perpetrators before they even commit them, questioning whether free will exists or if everything is pre-determined. The movie is excellently directed by Steven Spielberg and feels different than his usual adventure movies, this time focusing more on being a sci-fi noir thriller. Tom Cruise is great as always. I love the cool sci-fi visuals with all the round screen holograms. The movie weighs in on debating pros and cons of PreCrime. It's an intriguing philosophical debate about pre-determination vs free will. The movie immediately hooks you in with the irony of Tom Cruise's John Anderton being found guilty of precrime with a new mystery. The hotel confrontation is so tense and wildly unpredictable. We get an exciting climax once all the pieces come together, and a very sweet ending. It's a fantastic sci-fi concept and Spielberg executes it perfectly to the fullest extent. The character developement is deep, the debates it can give rise to are endless. It really checks all the boxes of an amazing film. You're on your seat the whole time thrown around by the plot and enjoying every second of it. The action sequences are awesome, especially the visuals and the shots look so stunning. Tom Cruise, Colin Ferrell, Steve Harris have great performances in the film. But, overall, I give Minority Report a 10/10 or a 5/5 stars. See more Steven S @Slschmidt Jan 4 Interesting concept mixed with a creative dystopia. Tom Cruise does a great job creating realistic reactions within his story and dilemma. Although I enjoyed this movie, I cant turn a blind eye to its cliche moments and lame attempts at comedy within the action scenes. The son kidnapping scene was so glossed over and far fetched that I felt as if I was wasting my time. Especially since the kidnapping was so vital to his back story. All in all, I give this movie a 63/100. Fun, adventurous, and thrilling. See more Will G @Kingofthepixies Dec 22 Good film, half a star knocked off for a pet peeve. The machine that carves the name of the murderer into a wooden ball, then varnishes it and sends it down a convoluted tube. There's lots of instances of this in modern scifi movies. Is it because movie directors have no real knowledge of the real world? See more Read all reviews
