A clever retelling of a classic tale from skewed p.o.v. of supporting characters. Go to Full Review

It will provide plenty of laughs for kids but adults who loved the original film won't find much to hold their interest. It's moderately funny the first time, after that you roll your eyes. Go to Full Review

Whimsical and fun, The Lion King 1 1/2 is an enjoyable romp behind the fake scenes of a real movie. Go to Full Review

It is creative, and that's alone enough to rocket it to the top of the Disney sequel heap. Go to Full Review

"The Lion King 1 1/2" is a very clever "syncquel" that's entertaining in the beginning but weighed down by a premise and format that seem ill-suited for a full-length feature. Go to Full Review

John K @WQCMI 1 day ago Better than Lion King II, but not as good as the original. The prequel part is the most interesting part of the movie, that’s the only thing that held it back, but I really enjoyed it. See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 11, 2026 As I’ve said, this is another film made directly for the DVD market. However, it is noticeable that in 2004 Disney began investing more money in these productions, as was the case with Mulan II. Even so, the animation quality isn't genuinely good and falls far short of the original classic. What saves the film and keeps it from being a total disaster is the fact that it focuses on Timon and Pumbaa. Their dynamic and humor are the only reasons to watch it.
