Jun S @RT62117463 2 days ago An exhilarating thriller undone by a thoroughly unsatisfying conclusion. Law Abiding Citizen positions Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) as the aggrieved protagonist fighting a broken system, while Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) serves as the career-driven lawyer driven by win rates rather than justice. Naturally, our sympathies lie with Clyde. However, the climax completely betrays its own premise. Watching a hyper-calculating mastermind who planned every detail ten steps ahead suddenly fall to a prosecutor with no tactical expertise feels jarringly far-fetched. By refusing to commit to its original antihero narrative, the movie swaps a thought-provoking message for a weak, conventional Hollywood ending. The story revolves around a man who did not get justice, and after a certain time, he becomes a psychotic killer. His violent fight against the weak system is shown here. The cast was good. The screenplay was good. The dialogues were average. The movie will not bore you. The acting could have been better, especially Jamie Foxx should have done a better job. The film sometimes feels illogical, and that makes it not so great at times. But the one thing that makes it great has to be the character of Gerard Butler. He just nailed the character. The character buildup and the character itself make it a great experience. See more Nick B @NickBtheHorrorOG Sep 15, 2026 A decent crime thriller that's definitely dark at times. The ending was kinda stupid though. See more John H @Holloway805 Sep 5, 2026 26 rating by RT???? what a joke. The whole premise of this movie is revenge. A powerful human emotion. Which one of us wouldn’t do what Butler did? 5 star movie. RT blew it on this one See more Dee H @RT15327790 Sep 2, 2026 Wonderful movie 🍿 it had great plot and plans See more Tyson D @Spudsprout Aug 30, 2026 (Overall Rating: 2.88/5) (OK) --- (Cinematography/Atmosphere: 3/5) It was ok for what it was for and there were a few cool effects, otherwise fairly average. --- (Storyline/Plot: 3/5) A fun revenge story that may have a few holes (pun intended) but if you take at face value is a good time. --- (Acting: 2.5/5) There was something about Butler's acting that threw me off. Foxx along with everyone else was just OK. --- (Character Quality: 2.5/5) Pretty cliche characters that could be much deeper but we just get the surface of. --- (Entertainment Value: 3.5/5) Moves at a good pace and is a fun watch if you like revenge stories. Has a few decent twists. --- (Expectations vs. Reality: 2.75/5) If you're looking for Oscar worthiness go elsewhere. If you want a fun little crime thriller this could suffice.
