See more William F @RT58779145 05/12/2025 While the viewer must accept this man and his families wishes for his assisted suicide, it is difficult (as a Christian) to accept that man can choose his date of death. Only God, who created us, should make that final decision. I understand death is not an easy thing to confront given the potential for the pain, humility and suffering, but I see no justification in a “legal” CA law that allows for an assisted planned, recorded testimonial of a person’s own suicide. Biblical I personally feel it is man’s usurping Gods authority over what he created. (Regardless of one’s religious beliefs and and denomination) See more Cynthia H @RT96425230 11/02/2023 I am in much the shape that Eli was in as I struggle with CHF, pulmonary failure among other issues; a shell of my former self due to Lupus. I thought the movie was wonderful and wish that all families could face death as openly and lovingly as Eli's family. What a triumph they all experienced and accomplished because they accepted his wishes with such openness and love; working together day by day through to the end with understanding, respect, and full support of each other. Every one of them deserves a medal, but it seems Eli's love and loyalty to family and friends, his steadfast care, kindness and compassion was blessing enough to be the example to all of how to live a life of service and goodness. See more ann l @abycats 11/15/2022 Absolutely perfect, altho heart wrenching, portrait of what most people would view as a "good death" -- dying at a time of your choosing, surrounded by family, with a chance to forgive yourself for past mistakes, and provide hospice-level treatment to minimize pain and discomfort.
