Karuppu is overall an entertaining commercial film that works best when embraced on its own fantastical terms.

Karuppu begins with a striking idea of God battling a broken justice system, only to turn into a routine Suriya mass spectacle.

Karuppu is flawed in ways it cannot hide. But it has Suriya at his most committed, a first half that delivers, and enough big moments to make the ticket worth it. Just brace yourself for the second half.

Karuppu may not achieve perfect balance between mythology, message and mass entertainment, but it remains an ambitious and often compelling film whose strengths outweigh its shortcomings.

...what really makes Karuppu a fun entertainer is the sheer control of the frame that Suriya exhibits and the goodness in Balaji’s morality tale. This is a story of hope, and hope is always a good thing.

1st half was really good and fast paced. The 2nd half was dragging and boarding. Not worth of spending my time and money.

Amazing performance by Suriya and RJ Balaji. well knit story , Sai's music was the heartbeat of this film. Brought back the vibes of a mass block buster.

A commercial bang! Suriya has made a comeback with this meaningful script and concept. Justice delayed is justice denied is what I observed from this movie! An absolute vibe!

Great movie and outstanding performance from Suriya sir! Racy screenplay from RJ Balaji sir and writers. Visuals from GK Vishnu sir were excellent along with Sai Abhyankkar’s score and songs. Stunts from Vikram Mor were pakka commercial stunts that we missed out in Tamil cinema after a good amount of time. Kudos to Balaji sir and team to put the king back on his throne like he said he would 🔥🔥🔥🖤🖤🖤!!
