Great idea, lousy execution: "Iron Sky" boasts one of the zaniest premises in recent memory, and somehow manages to squander most of its potential. Go to Full Review

If you're expecting a big-budget space extravaganza, you're going to be sorely disappointed, but if you're after a slice of subversive sci-fi, then this is ausgezeichnet fun. Go to Full Review

The film does work and is fun most of the time, even if it has some disappointing passages, keeps losing rhythm due to sloppy editing and fails to make proper use of Udo Kier. Go to Full Review

... the comedy of Iron Sky is so broad and on the nose that the majority of the jokes just did not work for me. Some were painfully unfunny. And with a premise this ingenious that is just a little bit sad. Go to Full Review

Blake L @MovieMasochist 1d Very dark comedy that makes its points with a sledgehammer; it would have been better had it stuck with absurdism and not allowed itself to slide downwards into slapstick. All of the main characters were badly-written caricatures interpreted by actors that didn’t have the chops to bring them into the third dimension. Udo Kier—-whose performances I usually admire—seemed almost embarrassed to be involved with the project. See more Andrew R @PlatinumEye Jul 19 Come on, this is campy, cool, fun, at times side splitting laughing and never a slow or dull moment. Great execution by the director! Can’t believe I didn’t notice it when it came out, a terrific watch. See more David B. @RT14283473 Mar 17 I don’t get the low ratings, it’s interesting & watchable to me and I hate most movies! See more Don M. @dnmcknz Feb 27 Very entertaining parody movie, I'm amazed people take it seriously. If you watch it as a sci-fi and historical parody it is very entertaining. See more Wayne V @WayneMV Feb 8 On first viewing, I was confused and disappointed that it wasn't a serious sci-fi film. I felt like WTF did I just watch? I have to say that Laibach did a wonderful job with the soundtrack; the main reason I gave it a rewatch after my initial disappointment was for the music; and I'm so glad I did. Since... On second (and third) viewings, I began to appreciate it a lot more. It gets better the more times I watch it. It's awesome when understood just as avant-garde political parody. It has so many really funny moments. That it's so chaotic and absurd and doesn't take itself seriously is actually a huge part of what makes Iron Sky so great. See more Tiemen S @Dutch1inAZ Jan 7 The premise is beyond dumb and the acting is -unintentionally- comical. But at least some cash and effort went to the effects team and the costume department. I'd say this is one to enjoy when inebriated or otherwise enjoying some kind of mood-enhancing substance. See more Read all reviews
