A Western-shaped moral reckoning, executed with craft, patience, and a controlled burn that turns to true hellfire exactly when it should. Go to Full Review

A small town action thriller that tells a familiar story in a familiar setting about familiar characters facing a familiar dilemma. But (Stephen) Lang makes anything watchable. And supporting turns from Harvey Keitel and Dolph Lundgren add to the fun. Go to Full Review

Reliable DTV action director Isaac Florentine pulls off a couple of decent action sequences, but Lang is no Scott Adkins, and the combat is more rote than dynamic. Go to Full Review

Devotees of gritty DTV action cinema will find much to appreciate here, but outside of the most hardcore enthusiasts, this will likely be met with a shrug. Go to Full Review

Richard Lowry's script is bare bones, but mostly in a way that allows space for the main attraction, which is Lang, sweaty, bloodied and broken, to mow down scores of bad dudes. It's not complicated. Go to Full Review

Containing elements of the "Man With No Name," "Billy Jack," and "Rambo" franchises, Israeli director Isaac Florentine’s "Hellfire" is mostly a showcase for Stephen Lang, one of the movie industry’s most dependable character actors. Go to Full Review

Louise H 10h I dont know what anyone else was watching but i thoroughly enjoyed it. I mean, I did predict who he was but still a great movie. See more Harris R @Harrisons_reviews 20h Wow this entire mess was amateur hour in every aspect. You know it'll be a flop when the first 5 mins all you see are what felt like 20 production company logos... I guess all needed to pay the hefty salaries for Lang, Keitel and Lundgren. For starters, I'm baffled how such experienced filmmakers like director Isaac Florentine and writer Richard Lowry - each with over 30 filmmaking credits, are still making movies all rated very poorly. You both need to take a break and go to film school. Everything was long, dragged out, slowly paced, cliched and predictable. Even the first shoot-out felt endless, and the rest were basically eyeroll cringe. Even the fight scene sound effects were cartoonish, and Lang's outfits seemed like a fifth grader picked them from a thrift store. There is literally nothing redeemable in this mess. Even if your a fan of Lang, Keitel or Lundgren, still don't bother.. you'll feel bad for them agreeing to be in this flop. It's a very generous 3/10 out of pity. See more Noriko S @NSakaida 1d Lately, I find myself enjoying movies like this more than the highly budgeted, overly polished studio films. Sometimes grit and enthusiasm beat gloss and spectacle. It absolutely feels like a throwback to an ’80s actioner. You can sense the low budget in places, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. I’m not a movie snob, the story is 'okay' but the action delivers where it counts. See more Shawn N @shawn70 1d Decent effort but it seems this scheme of movie has been made before, and before that, and before that too. Beats watching paint dry, and that is about all.
