Janiece P @RT59768375 Jul 31 trash not watching ever stupid See more Wayne K @WayneKelso Jul 30 A horror comedy in a similar vein to Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, only less funny and with fewer likeable characters, Hatchet feels like the kind of film you dream of making when you’re 14 years old. Full of comically dumb characters, gory kills and women who are happy to flash their breasts on every occasion. I applaud the filmmaker’s determination to do everything as practically as possible, resulting in some of the films biggest laughs, and some of the characters, particularly Marcus, get a few great lines. The villain’s mortality is inconsistent, with the film never able to decide whether he’s powerful enough to shrug off bullets or weak enough to be incapacitated by a kick, but it’s biggest flaw is the ending. Basically, it doesn’t have one. It comes to a halt in the middle of an action scene. Not an open ending, just a complete stop, like someone sat on the remote. A fun enough way to kill 80 minutes, but nothing special overall.
