Critics Consensus

Largely witless and disappointingly dull, Girl Most Likely strands the gifted Kristen Wiig in a blandly hollow foray into scattershot sitcom territory.

There are moments to make you honestly wish it were a better movie, and that the semi-autobiographical screenplay by Michelle Morgan didn't feel so much like a first draft.

Falls flat on almost all counts, its one saving grace being Wiig herself -- an actress who appreciates the beauty of subtlety, and just about saves her latest movie from complete disaster.

It's a balance that mostly works, though a final twist at the end introduces an odd tension that, while wacky, makes the film's climax feel somewhat uneven.

Annette Bening is a hoot. It's the best sign of a great actor when they're intentionally miscast and nevertheless nail the role. Kristin on the other hand just plays the character when always plays. It's like the directors took the Wonder Wheel storyworld and did something fun with it.

Not sure why all the hate for this movie, it's funny & cute. I liked it from start to finish & definitely has a lot of interesting side plots & stories going on throughout. Quirky is a good way to describe the main character, but the whole cast is a little out there, gives it all the more charm.

Tries to be a quirky comedy but there's little comedy especially from the lead, you'd think she never been in SNL. Another forgettable 21st century comedy that tries to appeal to all

Girl Most Likely's biggest problem is that it is boring and the characters (beside from Imogene, just about) are not built well enough for you to sympathize with, root for, or want to fail. As I was watching, I kind of just didn't care about the other characters. However, the worldbuilding in the movie was alright. The main house was fleshed out, and so was the town outside of the big city. And I do have to say, as well, that I enjoyed the subtly of Imogene's development as she scrambles through all the new horridities popping into her life. This is not something that everyone particularly enjoys, though, so I get how most people didn't enjoy it. There's no problem with the actors, I just think that if they were going to market this as a comedy, to make the jokes... well, funnier. So that's it. Overall, it was boring. Plus half a star for Darren Criss as a backstreet boy.

) A unwitty translucide copy of Bridesmaids. The script is uninventive and is borderline ridicule at times. One star for those fine actors who did their best but honestly I could not watch it till the end.
