[A]s they say in merry old England, a curate's egg, good in parts. Some parts - the solid cast, a few well-turned one-liners - are really quite good indeed, although viewers have to wade through a moderate fug of reindeer fart jokes to get to them.

As with any Christmas film, it's more about the mood it conjures than how good the film is objectively. With that in mind, this is a comedy that's less about warm festive fuzziness than playing up its "crime caper for kids" conceit.

Great Christmas movie. I saw this movie in cinemas back in December of 2014 and still love it to this day. I can understand why some people might not like this movie, there are some juvenile humour, but I think its a great Christmas Comedy classic that involves, great acting, catchy music and an interesting story.

Enjoyable film and a nice change not really having too many Christmas films like this one. Cast really well, Jim Broadbent being one of the best on screen Santas and elevating this by a star just by himself.

Brilliant and yet largely overlooked Christmas film. Great performances from a really strong British cast (Jim Broadbent, Rafe Spall, Stephen Graham, Jodie Whittaker, just to name a few). Yes it’s very silly, but there’s a lot more to it than the farting reindeer. We always enjoy watching it round Christmas time.

Despite lacking the cinematic flourish of bigger-budget seasonal movies, this gets by on its likeable characters and sense of fun. The script is loose and inconsistent, but Broadbent and Spall give bright performances and are supported by a game cast.

You have to appreciate British humor , and then just go with it!! Quirky, but fresh and often humorous Santa tale , that has heart. Nice addition to the Christmas story genre!! Relax and enjoy!
