Critics Consensus

Gemini Man's impressive visuals are supported by some strong performances, but this sci-fi thriller is fatally undermined by a frustratingly subpar story.

The technology of Gemini Man may be amazing, but the narrative is anything but.

The real mystery here: How did Lee and such a gifted cast and crew end up with such a vacuum? The plot bumps along from one ludicrous turn or gaping hole to the next.

Maybe it was a sign that this film was ill-fated when it took almost 20 years for it to get off the ground.

When it comes to action, Gemini Man delivers with some epic fight scenes. However, the film does suffer from a ridiculous and predictable plot, and sections of clunky dialogue.

'Gemini Man' sets up a premise that could be well-executed if it were handled by another director or screenwriter. This one just fails to hit the mark.

It is easy to see that what Ang Lee wanted Gemini Man to be an action film that changed the face of cinema, what he has created though is a film so bad that it is likely to become a cult classic for the same reason The Room has become a must-see film

The movie critics who gave it a low score are clearly not action fans. It's not Mission Impossible or even the first Bourne movie, but it was a fun watch especially on the big screen. The action scenes were cool and the only element that I really didn't like was Junior's CGI eyes -- obviously because it wasn't the real thing. The critics really mauled this movie but I would watch it again and definitely recommend it to Mission Impossible and Bourne fans!
