What to Know

Critics Consensus

A dumb, goofy, and vacuous adaptation of a TV show where plot is simply an excuse to string together the car chases.

Whether you find all this inane or offensive will probably depend on whether you buy the Dukes' defence of 'never meaning no harm'; either way it's pretty hard going. Go to Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com Jun 6, 2021

Unfortunately, this is a film that begs comparison to the television series and because of that draws more criticism than were it to stand alone - although standing along it still insults the intelligence of every moviegoer out there. Go to Full Review James Mottram The List Apr 25, 2019

Robert P @Superbad Oct 5, 2026 The Dukes of Hazzard is a *2* star Movie! See more Cole D @RT78180295 Sep 18, 2026 A fun car movie that has 2 mediocre comedians in it See more Carlos T @RT67858720 Sep 14, 2026 🏁 **VEREDITO** *Os Gatões* está longe de ser uma grande adaptação e não chega perto do impacto da série original. Porém, como sessão de entretenimento, funciona. É nostalgia, humor, carros e perseguições — exatamente o tipo de receita que fez *The Dukes of Hazzard* ser lembrado por gerações. **Não é cinema para pensar. É cinema para se divertir.** ⭐ **NOTA: 6,0/10** See more Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 12, 2026 The worldwide gross is $111,069,515.00 over a production budget of $50,000,000.00 which is almost triple the ticket sales. See more Ryan L @RT27360424 Mar 11, 2026 This was supposed to be an R-rated movie, so get the Unrated Version for sure. Stupid, funny, and broken lizard did their thing. Maybe it’s the southern one-liners or it’s just the nostalgia for me, but I always have a good time with this movie! It’s a great "throw something on the tv" movie. Not every movie has to be schindlers list. Of course it’s not Ruth’s Chris, but hell sometimes you just wanna hit the McDonald’s drive through and get a kids meal with a toy. The PG-13 version’s watered down, Unrated R version is a phile. See more Tyra T @TLT205 Feb 7, 2026 Fun movie with cool cars, quick dialog and good old country fun. One of my favorites!
