Those already in the choir may applaud this movie's preaching, but for others, it will likely feel like little more than a blatant recruiting tool, both for the chuch and for the Army. Go to Full Review

Steve B @sbrewer357 6d I like independent films like this that have a message. Counter Column is a character-driven faith drama that juxtaposes life choices, belief, and transformation against the discipline and environment of military service, rooted in Christian messaging and redemption storytelling. The film centers on Anthony Mendoza from the inner-city streets of San Antonio, whose life of drug dealing has spiraled out of control. After a tragic incident, he decides to join the U.S. Army as a way to escape his past. During basic training, Anthony clashes with Chris Wright, a devout Christian soldier determined to share his faith despite resistance and hostility. As Anthony tries to make Chris’s life difficult, Chris gradually influences him. The story explores Anthony’s internal and spiritual transformation as he confronts his past, prejudice, and beliefs. See more JASON C 01/23/2025 I just finished watching this movie on UP Faith and Family. Having been in the Army, I found some parts to be funny and accurate. It's also a bit of a tear-jerker on a couple levels. I wish they would have had a bigger budget but I'm grateful for something clean with a good message. See more 05/28/2021 The script is very well written, with several characters besides Mendoza going through their own "Counter Column." Heartfelt acting, creative filming and great music, including a haunting cadence. What an uplifting film that gives God the glory for changing lives! See more 05/27/2021 Great movie!!
