See more Kevin P @RT55971421 Jul 20, 2026 A very endearing sports drama that's mostly famous for its iconic music number during the famous opening scene with the Olympic athletes gracefully running across the beach. But thankfully the rest of the movie is just as charming and exciting to watch. It really holds up as a great British sports movie. There's an infectious kinetic energy during the running practice scenes thanks to the energetic performances and some great cinematography. The movie centers around a great sports rivalry as you care for both of them and you want both to win. Sometimes the pacing is a little slow and the 80's music is dated. The heart of the movie centers around genuine adult fears of passion, life, uncertainty, and identity. Very charming, and I ended up rooting for both of the main Olympic athletes. Some might find it slower paced, but I personally found it to be more laid-back in a dry British sort of way as both main characters try to grapple with what their personal identities outside of running. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 May 28, 2026 Majestically and scenically scored that’s genre-defining and generally well performed on the cast’s part whilst sharing the directorial fascination that lacks mutual engagement when thematically similar films have shown more spirit than this ironically being on a pedestrian pace, unceremoniously crossing the finish line with ineffectively forged uplift. (B-) See more Garrett B @gmoney637 Apr 4, 2026 Chariots of Fire features stellar performances, beautiful cinematography, and an unforgettable film score. See more Peter V @RT78913669 Feb 8, 2026 The university scenes in England are witty and good-natured, with Sir John Gielgud's refined performance adding a nice touch. The scenes in Scotland offer a refreshing change of pace. While some may view it as a stuffy costume drama, the film's unconventional form, refinement, and pitch-perfect performances make it stand out. The ending is particularly sublime, with memorable music that will be remembered for a lifetime. See more Read all reviews
