jwcdood T @jwcdood 1d I've watched BUSHWICK twice. Both times I was impressed with the terrifically realistic camera work, good direction and really appropriate acting by the entire cast. This is a very simplistic but extremely tense story that's fundamentally about the two main characters and how they deal with the complete chaos of practically instant civil war with no idea why. The professionally very opinionated critics can't deal with a very effective, but simple plot. See more Alexandre B @Ilex7310 Mar 30 I'm trying to find something positive about this movie but it's hard to find, badly played , the first 15min I thought it was kids playing war and it turned out the entire movie is about this and worse the main female actress is self commenting her actions ( OMG I can't see anything, OMG I need to run now, OMG someone hurt you badly and I need to help you,...) You learn the main male actor is an an ex-marine but he is out of breath after running 50m?!? The movie is supposedly immersive but in fact repetitive, lacks any story or plot, not going anywhere and not telling anything. Only the end is coherent with the overall pessimistic tone of this movie hence the 1 star. See more Matt B @RT25404390 01/19/2025 Interesting premise if handled adroitly, unfortunately the script is barely believable in terms of human reactions (sees a man on fire... decides to just run away despite no implied threat to self.. in first 3 minutes of film). Acting is not fantastic from the female leads. John does a good job. Soundtrack, while I love aesop rock, doesnt suit the genre nor the film. See more Feasible T @RT30166679 11/26/2024 The movie started well, and maintained it's pace for the first 10 or so minutes. However when it would be natural for the pace to pick up, it slowed down and vice versa. The main characters have potential that is never really explored in any depth, and all side characters are there to either die, or be randomly violent. It is clear what the point of the movie was, with an obvious message that any life is expendable. But the message falls flat. The plot doesn't draw you in, the action doesn't scratch an itch, and overall it fails at being an action movie an a drama. It was just entertaining enough for me to say "wow that was bad" as the credits rolled and not half way through. See more Read all reviews
