MC R @RT91491190 Aug 8 Time to rewatch the sequel! I was suprised when the sequel was announced back then in 2020. In my memories it was funny and great. But lesser than the original. This movie gave the world the gift in form of Maria Bakalova. She was truly incredible as the daughter of Borat. I didn't mentioned this in my review of the first movie, but Sacha Baron Cohen was incredibly as Borat. This movie he did wich danger of his own life, especially at the rally against the lockdown. I want mention some highlights in movie wich I noticed and I though was hilarious. The first one was at the dance, where Borat made a joke over his daughter and a dad get along with the joke. The daughter of the dad looked really annoyed and embaressed. She even did voice her displease and the felt caught. It was such an fun moment. The second was at the CPAC conference. Cohen came in a KKK suit and said: Hallo I'm Stephen Miller. Wich I though it was really hilarious Borat 2 was great! See more ryder G @Gideonofnir Jul 6 Honestly i went in expecting it to be just ok but much worse than the original, it was way better than i thought it would be, it was still really funny and the political humor and stupid stuff was hilarious, but when it got to an actual plot twist i was genuinely shocked, i didn’t expect an actual good plot twist from borat subsequent movie film but there i was jaw dropped, its not as good as the original but it has plenty of charm, it is worth the watch. There's so much bad that, honestly, to just be mediocre and then forgotten is a completely innocuous outcome. To make a sequel to one of the funniest movies of all time? I would not wish it on any man, woman or person. To try and recapture the magic of the original "Borat?" Why even try? Well, I gotta say — though, I'm late to the party on this one — I'm very happy I've finally seen this. I'm definitely gonna be in the camp that prefers the original to this one, but there's a ton to respect here. So much is attempted and to do that during one of the more tumultuous times in recent American memory? Very impressed. Maria Bakalova is nothing short of incredible in this, taking the potential Achilles heel of "and, introducing, XYZ-iconic-character's kid!" and turning it into one of the film's brightest spots. Would be lying if I said I wasn't curious to see how a third film would go, but I also understand the unsustainability/security-related risk of it all. They kind of flew as close to the sun as they could here without melting their proverbial wings. As it stands now, the duology at hand is beyond solid and this is easily one of the best comedy sequels we've seen in a long, long time.
