The lesson here is don't mess with the inner rage of a teenage girl. But Becky's crazed kills get more and more gimmicky, and there's nothing in the script to indicate what has turned her into a pint-sized death-dealer.

On the whole, Becky is a well-paced and action-driven distraction with an unlikely hero. It's a perfect vehicle for its two leads, who are certainly suited for these kind of out-of-the-box roles.

Becky doesn't redefine the home invasion thriller, but thanks to a game Lulu Wilson, there's plenty of peachy, prepubescent bloodletting to be had.

The R-rated Home Alone that nobody asked for. The comparisons are obvious. But to really capture the tone and fun to be had here, I think it might be more informative to think of movies like The Evil Dead and Friday the 13th. Instead of Ash, we get Becky. Instead of demon-possessed Deadites, we get neo-Nazis. And instead of cartoonish, booby-trap violence, we get Friday the 13th level practical gore effects. Ever wonder what kind of damage a broken ruler can do? Becky will show you.

Okay this movie is not meant to be taken seriously. I enjoyed the action; loved Becky (Lulu Wilson). It wasn't anymore improbable than any other action movie. My husband I and I thought it was a hoot. So much so that we immediately watched the sequel, Wrath of Becky, liked that too, but not as much.
