The film has moments that capture the dark tone and psychological depth of the story, especially in the Joker’s origins, but it struggles with pacing and structure. The first half feels unnecessary and disconnected, adding elements that don’t enhance the overall narrative. While the animation and voice acting are solid, they aren’t enough to carry the weaker parts of the script. There are flashes of what could have been a great adaptation, particularly in its darker themes and character moments, but they’re weighed down by inconsistent storytelling choices. Mark Hamill does great as the Joker and Kevin Conroy as Batman is great and is the best Batman, especially him in the Arkham games and Batman: The Animated Series. The story kind of sucks, but the action is cool and entertaining. It’s a definitely rated R movie with disturbing moments. The plot is a bit of a mess. But, I want to watch it again in Blu-Ray. But, overall, I give Batman: The Killing Joke a 6.5/10 or a 3/5 stars.
