Dave K @BilboBagsy Jun 30, 2026 I actually think that Alan Partridge works much better as a series. It’s not a bad film but the premise I found to be a bit too heavy for it to be the old awkward classic humour you remember from the show. Alan essentially becomes the reason his colleague gets fired from the local radio station after it is sold. That same colleague ends up taking the radio station hostage and Alan becomes the man to mediate between police and the hostage taker. There are of course some awkward moments but it's hard to keep it humorous in a hostage situation. The film is a great idea and I see why it got made. It has some good laughs and Steve Coogan's character is always entertaining, but it’s nowhere near as memorable as the series. The old cast is all in there which is nice to see, and there's also some new additions. Tim Key i thought was an exciting addition that complimented the partridge humour. He has some surprisingly funny moments considering he has a gun strapped to his head. 7 / 10 See more Keith B B @Okbullard Dec 21, 2025 It had a little humor but mostly just silly humor. I'd never watch it again. See more alan G. @agenser Dec 4, 2025 Steve Coogan has to be the worst British actor ever. I loved every minute. See more Oliver A @LittleOldPennywise Jul 7, 2023 Quite possibly the funniest film of the decade. This is Steve Coogan at his absolute best supported by stellar writing and exceptional performances from Tim Key, Colm Meaney and Felicity Montagu. The laughs are constant and range from painfully clever to downright silly and you enjoy every single one. Truly exceptional. See more Read all reviews
