When Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) became a CIA officer, she swore an oath to duty, honor and country. But, when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy, Salt's oath is put to the test. It's amazing that for a film with three distinct edits, not one of them blends the best of each into one solid, recommendable version. (FWIW: The director's cut comes closest.) But "Salt" is still a reminder of Angelina Jolie's inimitable movie-star pull.

Salt is to action movies what the Twilight trilogy and its sexual, anti-hemoglobin puritanism is to vampire stories. This ideological vehicle also has... a trite and well-known story, but narrated with solvency and agility. [Full review in Spanish]

If they said she had some kind of super powers it would be better . It’s unbelievable on any level that angelina jolie can beat up that many people and take that kind of punishment . Over all it’s a fun movie . A sill and forgettable action thriller

Rating: 6.4/10 ⭐️ I expected a standard spy chase, but Jolie’s practical stunts hooked me. What Worked: Jolie doing her own stunts gives a raw texture that puts CGI flicks to shame. The drab federal building sets make the chase feel claustrophobic. Through my Methodist lens, seeing someone wrestle with a dark past to choose sacrificial protection over destructive loyalty beautifully reflects my values on grace and repentance. The Cuts: Constant twists about Evelyn’s loyalty made momentum totally stall out during exposition dumps; it was just spinning its wheels on lore. Keeping it spoiler-free, the late-game security breaches are insanely unbelievable, shattering the movie’s realism. Also, the occasional dated CGI looked rubbery and took me out of the tension. Verdict: A relentless thriller bogged down by a convoluted plot. Fun for Jolie’s stunts, but skip if you want a logical spy story. Favorite Line: “My name is Evelyn Salt.”

Salt is a spy thriller that stars Angelina Jolie from 2010 where she is accused of being a Russian Spy. Salt is a paint by numbers movie that is predictable. The movie gets going right away and there is no wasted time. This had great pacing with good action. Solid acting. But as the movie goes along the story gets unbelievable so you definitely have to turn your brain off and just enjoy it.
