Extremely shy Lars (Ryan Gosling) finds it impossible to make friends or socialize. His brother (Paul Schneider) and sister-in-law (Emily Mortimer) worry about him, so when he announces that he has a girlfriend he met on the Internet, they are overjoyed. Funny, a great performance from Gosling. But why? I think Gosling has a lot in common with Clark Gable, but here he is the anti-Gable. He plays a character who does absolutely nothing for himself, who benefits from the long suffering coddling of his town. It’s like a stereotype of the Boomer-Millennial parent relationship.

I'm kinda surprised I didn't hear about this movie. Acting is pretty good there's some weird humor in for you if you know someone with AVPD. Ryan can act.
