This is the story of Aladar, an iguanodon dinosaur raised by a family of lemurs. Their world is turned upside-down however, when meteors strike, turning their green world into a desert wasteland. Teaming up with a herd of other herbivores, the trek is on to find the "Nesting Ground" where water and vegetation are bountiful... but with carnivores behind them and nothing but desert around for miles, it doesn't look promising!

Critics Consensus

While Dinosaur's plot is generic and dull, its stunning computer animation and detailed backgrounds are enough to make it worth a look.

Sadly, there is little sign of the benefits of evolution in the storytelling itself, which sticks too closely to a narrative template seemingly dating back to the Mesolithic era. Go to Full Review

Dinosaur is a surprisingly strong effort, even in the face of the limitations by the technology the film is using. Go to Full Review

Daniel S @RT37151421 1d Dinosaur combines visual spectacle with a clear moral focus. The film presents a prehistoric journey while embedding lessons about behavior and decision making. The story centers on Aladar. He leads through empathy instead of dominance. In key scenes, he protects weaker members of the group and challenges harsh leadership. One example shows him encouraging cooperation during a crisis. This action reduces conflict within the group and improves survival chances. The film promotes specific values through character actions. Cooperation increases group stability. Protection of vulnerable members strengthens long term survival. Viewers observe direct consequences when characters choose selfish actions. These outcomes reinforce the message through cause and effect. The narrative structure supports gradual character growth. Early scenes show fear driven decisions. Later scenes show responsibility and collective thinking. This progression creates a clear learning path for views See more Joe L @Hoagie1013 Apr 10 Ok movie. Pretty basic story line and ending. See more thiago S @Thiagostone Apr 3 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Dominic Emmanuel S @dominic726 Jan 28 this movie is leagues better than the good dinosaur See more Peyton W @CCHS_Football_2834 Jan 15 One of my favorite Childhood movies ever!!! See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 15 Dinosaur is one of Disney’s most overlooked gems, a film that quietly slipped into obscurity despite being bold and ambitious for its time. When it was released, it marked a major step forward in blending CGI characters with realistic environments, creating a visual style that still holds up surprisingly well. The story is simple but effective, following dinosaurs fighting to survive against extinction, and it works because of its emotional sincerity. The characters are easy to connect with, the stakes feel real, and the journey keeps you invested from start to finish. There’s heart, tension, and a strong sense of perseverance woven throughout. It’s strange how easily this film is forgotten, even though Disney once dedicated an entire theme park attraction to it. Watching it now is a reminder of how powerful and engaging it really is. Dinosaur may not get talked about often, but it deserves to be remembered and revisited. See more Read all reviews
