Enrico P @RT68761426 1 day ago "There are no mice in the opera house! No, what about the old maestro!" "You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause!" "A battleship in La Trovatore!" "Let me see that... 9 dollars and 40 cents? This is an outrage. If I were you I wouldn't pay it. "Can he live in New York on three dollars? Like a prince. Of course, he won't be able to eat, but he can live like a prince." "If she figures that one out, she's good." If these quotes don't make you laugh you must see this film right now. Go ahead. Don't read the rest of this sentence. If they do make you laugh then like me you have to thank the geniuses who brought this film to light. Great writing, great directing and the Marx Brothers at their best. See more bruce F @bruce999 Aug 15, 2026 classic humor. one of their best films. Then, just when you least suspect it, Allan Jones as Riccardo Barone and Kitty Carlisle as Rosa Castaldi grace us with their beautiful voices. In the next scene, Chico and Harpo demonstrate their musical talents with a rousing piano piece by the former and a signature harp solo by Harpo. I suppose it makes perfect sense that they have such mastery of comedy AND have equal musical talents, but it's just that much more humbling. All told, this does deserve a spot on the updated AFI 100 Years - 100 Movies list (right at 85). It's 90 years old this year, but it has aged like fine wine and will hopefully resonate with audiences for years to come.
