Michael H @Mixhael Aug 6 Vice charges straight into the machinery of power with a grin that says, "This is going to get weird." Christian Bale disappears so completely into the role it's like watching a man become a bureaucratic force of nature. The film is wickedly funny, fearless, and constantly finding new ways to poke at politics without ever slowing down. It's the rare satire that leaves you laughing first, then quietly wondering what on earth just happened. See more Chris B @Papa13070 Jun 1 This film is held together by some truly outstanding performances (Bale and Adams, in particular). It will no doubt be compared to writer/director Adam McKay's film adaptation of The Big Short. But while that story covered just a couple years, Vice spans nearly 4 decades, significantly more difficult to fit into a 2 hour film. McKay's use of a narrating character is sometimes helpful in providing context and continuity, though I think it worked better in The Big Short. As a bio-pic, Vice does a good job of capturing Cheney's drive for power and his devotion to his family. Complicated people are generally difficult to depict in film, but McKay and the team he assembled gave it an effort worthy of some awards. I found some of the editing a bit quirky to the point of distraction, but I definitely recommend seeing it. Be sure and stay to the end. Não tenta ser uma biografia séria, mas uma, de certa forma, comédica e divertida (mesmo retratando assuntos muito sérios). As atuações são fenomenais e a maquilhagem... wow! Acho que o filme tem um final um pouco raso, apesar de ser bastante consistente por todo o tempo de duração falha em entregar uma conclusão adequada. Mesmo assim, é um bom filme. Pretty sure in the beginning of the movie it states that not much is known given Dick's tendency to be discrete?! Awesome acting, nicely paced and considering I hate politics= it was super watchable. Easy to add this to the collection. I think these people must've expected to much, you shouldn't, and you'll have a fun movie to watch.
