While this shift could have been refreshing, it ultimately leaves the film feeling less unique and less funny than its predecessors. The stakes are higher, but the laughs are fewer. One of the film's biggest issues is Alan. Once a standout comedic force, his character here becomes increasingly grating and less likable, dragging down scenes that should have had more energy. The pacing also suffers, with fewer surprises and a heavier tone that doesn't quite match the franchise's origins. Still, it's not a bad movie. The chemistry among the trio remains intact, and some sequences deliver solid entertainment. Director Todd Phillips’ sex comedy The Hangover Part III (2013) is wild. I did feel sad when it ended. That final hallway scene set to Kanye West’s "Dark Fantasy" was an awesome sendoff to these oddballs. I’ll miss these crazy characters. Bradley Cooper is still an awesome hero as apathetic drunkard Phil Wenneck. Ed Helms is still hysterical as the loser dentist Dr. Stu Price. Justin Bartha gets a few funny moments as The Wolfpack’s buddy Doug Billings. Zach Galifianakis is nuts as the deranged immature Alan Garner. Ken Jeong is truly outrageous as the crazy Chinese gangster on the run named Mr. Leslie Chow. Jeong is unleashed here for full comedic effect. Mike Epps is so funny as the drug dealer and enforcer Black Doug. John Goodman is phenomenal as the drug lord Marshall. He’s intimidating, serious, and very funny.
