The fault ultimately is in the Polanski screenplay which overlooks character for effect, disastrously. Involvement is absent; all is surface and it is a smooth one, without the shimmer of the evil that is within.

Rosemary’s Baby takes the little flap of cuticle and peels it all the way up to the elbow. It was clearly the inspiration for many movies and moviemakers since. While watching this, I kept drawing parallels with Hereditary.

A once-a-watch, Psycological-Horror-Drama-Family film. I am giving only 3-Stars because of bad or unsatisfying endings. Otherwise, I would have given it 4 stars.

I can't believe I wasted over 3 hours of my life for this. Besides being a child molester, Polanski is an idiot. Badly written, acted, and boring. The worst horror movie today is better than that trash

From the opening credits through to the lilting eerie lullaby at the end, this movie packs a wallop in all the best ways. Ruth Gordon received an award for Minnie, rightfully so. john Casavetes should have been given one also for being an excellent actor playing a mediocre actor who is convinced by the end of the film that he is a brilliant actor. My only fault to find? I think the tension could have been increased, if they'd left it ambiguous as to whether Rosemary was delusional or if it was really happening to her until the very end when she goes through the closet into the Castavet's apartment. Until that moment they should have filmed each scene as....she thinks its this...but it could also be as normal as this.
