On the day that their parents die, sisters Lilly and Victoria vanish in the woods, prompting a frantic search by their Uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain). Five years later, miraculously, the girls are found alive in a decaying cabin, and Lucas and Annabel welcome them into their home. But as Annabel tries to reintroduce the children to a normal life, she finds that someone -- or something -- still wants to tuck them in at night.

Absolutely good movie, they did good with the cgi, the jumpscares were top tier, and I was sad for Victoria at the end rip her lil sister 😢

The ending was very rushed and became very cheesy all of the sudden. It's important to note that GDT didn't direct this movie, but rather helped produce it and it shows. Leaves a bit of disappointment when it comes to the explanation of who Mama as well as more of a backstory of the kid's own parents aside from the first 10 minutes of the movie. Seems a lot of core characters we're killed off for no very good reason or explanation. HOWEVER, the visual effects of Mama in my opinion were very good, she got a lot of screen time which honestly not many scary movies give so you can actually take a moment and soak in who and what Mama looks like rather than the 1-3 second jump scare in other movies.

Two little girls are lost in the woods when their parents die. They are missing for a while, but when they come back they bring the spectre "Mama" back with them. She tries to kill the girls' guardians...their uncle and his girlfriend. They survive. It's a little scary, and I found the ending bittersweet.
