Lily D @LilyDog Jul 22 Forget all the "top critics" reviews. I come back to The Hudsucker Proxy every couple of years and find it very entertaining and rewatchable. It is quick, witty, fun & funny. Tim Robbins plays the perfect goober. Definitely worth a watch. See more S. N @Darius0 Jul 20 Loved it! Instant classic. Tim Robbins was great. Movie has an all around somewhat surreal feel. When you get to Sam Raimi's segment, you can really feel he takes the wheel too, and it's my favorite part. The whole movie is definitely one of my favorites. See more prawnda S @RT72497680 May 10 this movie has no shortage of great moments, but it overstays it's welcome. the point is made pretty early on, and while it's nostalgic and pretty funny, it also probably functions best as a highlight reel and especially so after you have seen the whole thing the first time. everyone does a great job but i can see why this wasnt popular if people paid to see it in theaters. See more Corinne F @RT26935400 Dec 23 This is one of my favorite movies ever. It’s so underrated & I can’t fathom the lack positive reviews from critics. It has a unique style all it's own & I find it so delightful! I think it’s got a similar feel to It's a Wonderful Life & The Apartment. Now I usually respect Roger Ebert’s opinion, but he was WAY off base w/ this one (as he sometimes is). Granted, he was conflicted about it, but ultimately favored his more negative take. Just to counter what he had to say, this movie DOES have substance as well as style. It seems like he didn’t understand the tone & that it was MEANT to be satire. While there are definitely funny moments, it also channels that noir aspect that the Coen’s are known for. Nothing was done in a stylistic way just for the sake of it. Presenting it that way just makes it more interesting, fun & creative, much like the dream sequence in The Big Lebowski. I could say more, but I have limited space here.
