The third installment in the "Friday the 13th" series picks up on the day after the carnage with homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees (Richard Brooker) stealing some clothes and killing a local store owner. Meanwhile, Chris (Dana Kimmell) and her sometimes boyfriend, Rick (Paul Kratka), are hosting a group of teenage friends at Chris' lake house. Despite a run-in with a local biker gang, they enjoy an amiable weekend together -- that is, until Jason begins knocking off kids and bikers alike.

Shot in such a way to capitalize on the brief fad of Reagan-era 3D movies, there's less memorable POV shots from the killer and more images from the perspective of the victims.

Friday the 13th was dreadful and took in more than $17 million. Friday the 13th Part 2 was just as bad and took in more than $10 million. Friday the 13th Part III is terrible, too.

Although Friday the 13th. Part III 3-D works on an instant gut reaction level, I don't think it can really be recommended to anyone but hard-core dyed-in-the-wool fans.

It wasn't the movie but the viewing experience. First, the 3D wasn't working. They restarted and fixed the 3D. But now, the top portion of the screen looked darker when viewing it with my left eye. It couldn't be fixed, so I left early disappointed.
