After five years in a coma, Madison Neubauer wakes to find her home and family in the grip of The Observance -- a secretive religious movement willing to do anything to protect its beliefs. Led by Jonah, a charismatic and deeply persuasive figure whose teachings promise clarity and belonging, the group offers salvation at a devastating cost. As Madison fights to uncover what has happened in her absence, she is drawn into a world where devotion is enforced, dissent is punished, and faith masks a far darker agenda.

The Observance is a terribly made horror movie about a woman fighting to save her brainwashed husband and teenage daughter from a cult of serial killers. All the bad acting is ghastlier than the movie's weak scares. Go to Full Review

KK 2d Wow. It’s low budget, but that isn’t descriptive enough. It’s so raw & unrefined with a goofy storyline. Truly, the movie had no business being in theaters. Waste of time and space. Tubi, yes. Perfect! But it’s not the type for the big theater chains. I cannot recommend it at all—even on Tubi. Save yourselves! See more Leah D @movie._.goer 4d The movie very clearly was low budget; the acting was really bad, pacing was extremely fast, and I feel the story didn’t flow properly because there were times where I got very lost. The writing itself was also bad, like it’s a good plot but the execution wasn’t thought out properly. The movie in general is just a really bad production and it was so bad that it took away from the movie’s fear factor. I didn’t give a one star because the plot has so much potential and I feel like if the production, writing, and acting was mediocre it would get a higher rating. See more N F. @DinoDrake 6d A fresh twist on the genre! A woman waking up from a 5 year coma to discover a cult has taken over her town, and in their grief her family has joined up! Charismatic performances and beautiful shots make this movie stand out. And for a lower budget indy feature, this is a triumph for any fan of thrillers! Though I do wish the final action sequences would have had a bit more to offer, this movie was always an exploration of grief and faith before it was an action horror. Give it a watch, it's clear a lot of heart and soul went into this! See more Ted J. @teddyJ44 6d The story really flows well, it’s engaging and gripping the entire time. This is a must see! See more Dave R @DaveRaynalds101 6d I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this movie - I knew it was a low budget movie going into it, so expectations were low, but wow. this blew me away - it gripped me from the opening scene and just flew - The last part was like a roller coaster - it just built and built and then exploded into non-stop action. Alec James (the cult leader) and his Female partner were phenomenal - He especially was riveting - he dominates the screen with a powerful presence - it really needs to be seen on a big screen, and I don't say that lightly. Definitely a surprise - and definitely worth seeing at theaters! See more Read all reviews
