Rick M Apr 20 Most of the 'science' was ridiculously beyond absurd, but it was still better than a lot of these movies. Even a little reminiscent of Frodo Baggins on Mount Doom at the end. Good cast, good acting, worth a watch. See more 08/09/2017 good grief, what a stinker of a movie. It actually had me wishing the asteroid would destroy the Earth so that it could be over. See more 02/01/2015 Holy cow -- which cable exec's cruel idea was it to show only the most abominable movies imaginable during this snowstorm? Here's all you need to know about this gobbler: An asteroid the size of Rhode Island is hurtling toward Earth. How many times has that premise been used in the last 20 years or so? And the solution, of course, is nuclear weapons. The twist here is that the nukes will be used to move the PLANET out of the asteroid's path! Need I say more? I understand that Asylum movies are known for being "so bad, they're good". Not this one; it's so bad, it's just bad. And if it becomes a cult classic, as some have predicted -- I can't even imagine how strange that cult might be. See more 12/23/2014 Movies like Asteroid vs. Earth make me wish brilliant minds like Isaac Newton and Galileo Galilei were alive to see this. Between all the usual suspects that come together to make an Asylum picture, I think they'd be much impressed. After centuries of time-wasting, pointless endeavors such as landing on the moon, orbiting the Earth, and discovering galaxies light years upon light years away, they'd no doubt be immeasurably proud that their life's work finally contributed to something meaningful with a film so lazy even its title takes the day off.
