From what I remember this film is pretty good and whoever says otherwise well honestly gotta have a pretty good reason because there is no way this rating is completely fair and unbiased so give this film a try! It tries hard to create a disturbing atmosphere, but most of the scares feel predictable and overly familiar, especially if you’ve seen other supernatural horror films from the same era. The performances are decent enough, but the script doesn’t give the characters much depth. A lot of the emotional moments feel rushed, and the movie leans too heavily on jump scares instead of building genuine tension and suspense. Visually, there are a few creepy moments and some effective imagery, but they’re surrounded by pacing issues and scenes that feel repetitive. Instead of becoming more intense as it goes on, the film starts to lose momentum. Overall, The Haunting in Connecticut is absolutely ungood compared to stronger haunted house films. It has a few interesting ideas, but the execution just doesn’t come together in a satisfying way. I’d rate it a 3/10. See more Tommy D @Thomas005 Oct 18 Underrated movie. See more TWMax65 T @RT38199094 Sep 7 At first, I got easily tired over the jump scares, the fake-outs with the ghosts/spirits in the background, etc. Too much of that at once. As the film progressed though, the plot became a bit more intriguing and I did like some of the visuals. Credit should be given for that and for the backstory, which was in fact creepy. Then again though, the performances weren’t that good and something still felt off and bland about it. Maybe I’ll watch it again one day and like it better but it did not entirely hook me because of how it began. See more Read all reviews
